Coliseum Youth Hockey Association

Overview

CYHA offers a selection of Learn To Play opportunities that are open to anyone aged 5–14 interested in experiencing the game of hockey for the first time.  Through our partnerships with elite organizations such as TPH and the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Club, there's a program that's just right for your child and your budget.

FAQ

Choosing the right program can be confusing, but most Learn To Play programs offer similar levels of instruction.  If this is your child's first experience with hockey, you might consider signing up for a "Try Hockey For Free" event.

Try Hockey For Free offers just a small glimpse into the sport of hockey.  It is intended to provide a fun and free opportunity to see if your child has an interest in learning the game.

Learn To Play programs offer instruction on the skills involved in playing the game, including skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting, and more.

Not necessarily.  Some programs include a full set of equipment in the cost of the program, while others offer a lower price if you provide your own gear.  You may also rent equipment from the rink for the duration of the program.  This helps keep participation affordable.
